Traditionally known as Slow Mow Spring or No Mow May, the Town of Washington Conservation Advisory Commission again asks residents to please consider not mowing lawn or setting aside a plot or border,
helping to create habitat for pollinators emerging from hibernation. Plants such as violets, white clover and dandelions provide rare spring food for bees – No bees, no food! It is important to also limit use of pesticides and herbicides in protecting wildlife and ourselves. Anything we put on our property, we put in our water.
