Washington Town Hall CLOSED Due to Covid 19
Nov. 9, 2020 Please be advised that the Town Hall is closed until November 30th due to several employees testing positive for Covid-19. We ask for your patience, as employees are not feeling well. In addition, anyone who has had direct contact with our employees are required to self quarantine for two weeks.
People that require service should call 845-677-3419 ext 100 and leave a message in the Town Clerk's voice mail system. Calls will be reviewed and disseminated when appropriate. Emails will not necessarily be checked during quarantine. We will be reviewing how we can best serve you during this unprecedented time period.
At this time, the Transfer Station is operating. Permit holders may use the facility. If you do not have a punch card, you will be billed for usage at a later date.
Hunting licenses may be purchased at Orvis Sandanona, located at 3047 Sharon Tpke., Millbrook or on the NYS DEC website. Orvis is open to the public, 7 days a week, from 9 am - 5 pm, Thanksgiving excluded.
Dutchess County has been provided a list of all people who have signed into the Town Hall from November 4 - 6. Contact Tracing will be done by New York State and Dutchess County.
Please wash your hands, wear a mask and contact a medical practitioner if you experience ANY Covid related symptoms.
The Town of Washington has an immediate opening for a part-time Building Inspector.
The candidate should have NYS Certification as a Code Enforcement Official or four years of full-time work experience in the construction trade as a general contractor, sub-contractor or foreman and be willing to obtain the Code Enforcement Official Certification within 18 months of appointment.
The candidate must have a reliable vehicle, NYS Driver’s License, be competent in reviewing construction plans, excellent communication skills and be computer literate.

The Town of Washington Recreation Commission is seeking volunteers to fill a vacant seat. The Commission is a seven-member board responsible for overseeing the recreation facilities and programs offered by the Town of Washington.
The Commission meets the second Wednesday of every month at 6:00 p.m in the Park or Town Hall. Members can expect a time commitment of between three and six hours per month which includes meetings and participation in community events. Each member serves a 4-year term. Interested candidates must be residents of the Town of Washington.

The governor has extended the town's ability to hold meetings via electronic formats, such as Zoom through September 4th. On or about that date, he may order another Executive Order to extend it through the first week of October or for additional months.
