As we kick off the holiday season, we are happy to remind the community that tonight you will find a lot of excitement in the Village of Millbrook. The Community Christmas Tree in front of Tribute Garden Park will be lit at 5:30 PM. The Annual Christmas Parade of Lights will begin at 6:00 PM. Santa and Mrs. Claus will proceed from the Parade of Lights to the Fire House. They will be joined by the Town of Washington Recreation Department to welcome children and visit with Santa. The Millbrook Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will be providing hot chocolate and donuts to Santa’s visitors.
While in Millbrook, we urge everyone to Shop Local and take advantage of the many unique restaurants, shops and businesses that offer one of a kind merchandise and experiences for gifts. Many of the establishments are small businesses that support the community activities and school organizations that we all enjoy.
It is requested that all visitors park on the side streets, the parking lot on Friendly Lane, the Town Hall Parking lot or the Tribute Garden Parking lots. Please do not park on Franklin Avenue.
Please note that there will be traffic delays. Franklin Avenue will be closed during the parade from the traffic light at the intersection of Route 82 and Route 343 to Franklin Avenue and Route 44/82 by Twin Brooks Garden Center. Alternate entries into the village include Church Street by Route 343 and Ciferri Drive off of Sharon Turnpike.
While traveling into Millbrook, remember that there will be many excited children and people looking to park their cars. Please take caution so everyone may have a delightful and safe evening.
